Useful and Unique Crafts for Dad

BlogNo CommentsJune 12, 2017Indasa Butler

Well, here we are again.

What useful and unique crafts for dad can we make?

For another Father’s Day?

Didn’t we just celebrate Father’s Day?

I don’t mean to sound unappreciative.

In fact, there are so many great things we should thank dads for.

We should thank dad for filling in when we must take a shower, a nap, or a break to count to ten.

Dad is there as a provider so many of us moms can concentrate on the business of educating our children.

Some dads are even hands-on with our children’s education.

And I believe that the dads that are making it happen should be honored.

But I tell ya…

…trying to find a gift that DAD will appreciate?!

Have mercy!

I’m not saying that dads are picky.

On the contrary.

The traditional lineup of gifts for dad has become the stuff of jokes.

Especially when moms try to get the kids involved.

Talk about added unnecessary stress.

So, some fathers end up getting store bought gifts.

Which can vary from useful to unique to…ummm…okaaay?

I get it.

As moms, we want to get the kids involved in Father’s Day.

After all, we get all these lovely cards and goodies on our day.

(And who knows, you may be a rare bird like me – wanting something with use and beauty.)

So why not give dad that option?

Something that you know he will use.

Without just handing him another coffee mug.

And, at the same time, remember with love.

Because it was thoughtfully created. (By the kids, I mean.)

But it doesn’t have to be a gift worthy of Inspector Gadget.

It can be a simple picture frame for those dads who spend a lot of time away for work.

Or an elegant pen holder for those that spend a lot of time at the office.

The point is, kids can create useful and unique crafts for dad.

And everyone can stay away from…ummm…okaaay…

Useful and Unique Crafts for Dad

For example, these 25 Last-Minute Father’s Day Crafts are unbelievable.

I can hardly believe that something you can do on-the-fly can be so elegant. And have utility.

In the gallery, you’ll find links to:

  • A DIY Grill Set Holder
  • Citronella Paint Can Candles (to keep the mosquitos off while he’s being the Grill Master)
  • A sewing project to give the Grill Master a manly apron
  • A fabulously inexpensive – possibly no cost – rocky picture frame
  • Recipes for homemade whipped shaving cream and shave oil
  • Reduce, Reuse and Recycle dad a Scrabble tile keychain, Vinyl record bowls, or a Domino Clock

I would call all the above gifts useful and unique crafts for Father’s Day.

From 42 Father’s Day DIY Gifts That Kids & Mom Can Make, I “heart”:

  • The jumbo tape dispenser. Because we are always looking for tape all over the house.
  • The homemade fishing pole
  • Keep it all in one place with the car wash kit
  • Or create one of the cutest cutout frames for DAD

To Eat or Not to Eat

And useful and unique crafts for Father’s Day can also include consumables. Why not?

Like this Candy Bar craft that you will find (among many other crafts) in Father’s Day Gifts Kids Can Make.

I think using this Father’s Day Party Pot for an outside BBQ (for your Grill Master) would be great.

This Father’s Day Couch Coaster Craft looks like it would be just as fun to make as to use.

I love this elegant pen holder. It is ‘where it’s at’. I’m thinking of putting in my own order with the kids.

A Thing of Beauty…

Now, depending on dad, useful and unique crafts for dad can also include works of art.

Or items he can use to create art.

(Hey, my kid’s grandfather is a professional artist. Things like that work for him.)

These Father’s Day crafts for kids from Better Homes and Gardens are inspiring.

Look at the crafts from Danielle’s Place. The picture frame is just adorable.

Make Just One Someone Happy

It’s possible.

Dad can receive a gift that is unique, useful and made with lots of love.

And not a lot of stress.

Anyone who makes sure your food is grilled to perfection deserves no less.
