Math Whizz for My Girls

I purchased Math Whizz after reading some testimonials online about how effective it was. My kids are very computer-savvy and so I thought this might be fun for them.

I ordered two subscriptions for my daughters age 11 and 8 to see if it would be a good supplement to our regular math curriculum.

They loved it from the very first day. They spent over an hour doing things to earn enough “credits” to be able to get things on the game that they wanted for their “room” in the game. You are required to do more math problems to earn the credits so they didn’t want to stop!

They have lost a little interest since then, but it is still not a chore to get them to do the extra math which is really nice…especially in the summer.

The best part of the program for me is to login to the parent account and see how well the kids are doing and improving. Even with only spending a little time each day for about 5 days a week, I have seen a difference in their math skills.

Sometimes a curriculum asks them the same question in a similar way so they are prepared for that answer. Math Whizz seems to mix it up a bit and make them really think. We are glad we tried it!

My grandaughter’s school subscribed to Math Whizz and we used it for homeschooling during the covid 19 quarantine but it seemed incredibly slow to me and to her. It took forever to go to the next problem. I am willing to take another look based on the above review but it seemed to take too much time to accomplish too little.
