About Homeschool Curriculum Explorer

Home About Homeschool Curriculum Explorer

Get ready to ease into homeschooling with confidence.

My name is Caleb Page. I am a father of three who got frustrated enough with my youngest child’s schooling that I finally decided to do something about it.

The goal of this site is to help parents confidently provide an education that develops their child’s creativity, retains their originality, and nurtures their independence.

I’m not your typical (if there is a typical) parent. My wife and I worked hard over the years to create businesses that give us some flexibility. We can’t quit them completely, but we’re able to take the time we want for our priorities. One of those priorities is our children’s education.

Educating our children is the best gift we can give them.

We have two older children that completed a public school education. We are immensely proud of them. We are fortunate to have a younger child. This time, we think we can do better by taking more responsibility for his education.

The work I do on this site has finally brought me to my personal why: I’m out to make a huge contribution to revolutionizing how we educate our children.

We learn best through experiences.

In my household we travel a lot for both business and pleasure. If we directly expose our children to history, cultures, and different languages, we help them to better understand how they relate to the world. We first used our trips as opportunities to focus on specific areas prior to travel (like a unit study). During our travels, we found ourselves creating routines during the slower moments to focus on the “regular” academic areas like math, reading, and writing. It helped me to reinforce my son’s learning. And as we confronted different learning challenges, we grew closer. We also realized that we enjoyed learning together.

I enjoyed helping my son learn so much I decided to pull him out of school so we could discover even more.

A few “different” facts about me:

  • I’m one of those “systems thinkers”. You know, when you’re at a restaurant or in a line somewhere? I’m the one thinking of how it can be done better. Sometimes it drives me – and the people around me – nuts.
  • My kids think I’m the funny one in the family.
  • I can’t remember a joke to save my life.

This site is for parents new to homeschooling who want to provide the best education possible for their children.

I regularly use it as a resource for reading ideas and contribute to it with my own experiences. My hope is that you find the site useful, rewarding, and inspiring in your homeschool journey. Enjoy!
