I began using Saxon Math for my 1st grader in August 2015 for the 2015-2016 school year. By December, I was getting frustrated that my daughter wasn’t really grasping the meaning of numbers, and she was struggling with simple addition problems. I switched to TouchMath in January, continuing through mid-April in order to give her more of a “hands-on” experience with numbers. I then went back to Saxon, and she now has a much better understanding of the concepts in Saxon.
I plan on continuing to use Saxon Math for 2nd grade.
