Learn Phonics for 1st Grade using Hooked on Phonics!

Hooked on Phonics Visitor Review:
If you want your child to learn phonics, I found that Hooked on Phonics works great for a 1st grade reading curriculum.

I know that most homeschoolers will not try it because they think that they can find a better curriculum for teaching phonics, but I have tried many and this just works better.

In the complete HOP program, they give the child a chart to accomplish and track how they are doing at reading the little books that are provided. (Just go to the color copy store before you begin to make additional copies so that you can use it again with younger kids.)

The workbook walks your child through every step of adding each sound and type of sound and the sight words so that each time that your child picks up the next book, they are already ready to read it successfully.

What a confidence booster!

My kids went from not reading at all to being some of the best readers in their age group very quickly. I am so glad I finally tried it.

I have been homeschooling for 14 years and have 7 children. I have used many phonics-based curriculums to teach reading but Hooked On Phonics is a keeper! It is easy to use and has lots of practice. It contains everything you need, including many readers. The readers are well done. They are appealing to the kids and are appropriate for typical young elementary students. Children completing the curriculum read at a 2nd grade level. The children feel a sense of accomplishment right off as they are reading little readers not too long after starting. My children who have used this curriculum have had a better start to reading.
