After much discussion I let my daughter (then in 8th grade- our first year homeschooling) ultimately make the big decision. Computer or books. To my surprise she chose 3 main courses in book form (LifePac) and 1 computer (Switched on Schoolhouse).
LifePac choices were Math, English and Science. History and Geography were done through Switched on Schoolhouse.
For us- in our first year homeschooling and considering I am really NOT a teacher it worked WONDERFULLY.
Easy to divide and organize- we even started late. Made goals- added curriculum as we were able–good technical support with AOP. Having said that- she’s entering 9th grade and will do at least this year homeschooled again.
She is a twin and we thought maybe we should prepare her more for our State curricula. She may decide to enter public school in 10th grade and wants to be on target with her sister. We decided to try using an online public school program in our state. If it doesn’t work out for her (is not her learning style) we will go back to the Alpha Omega options!!
Thanks!
