We are currently using Grade 2. My daughter should actually be in 1st grade according to her age, but mathematics has always been one of her strong suits, so we decided to go one grade level higher.
For us, it has been just okay. It is neither too hard nor too easy, but the constant repetition is tiresome and tedious to my daughter. We have skipped most of the daily drills because they are time fillers rather than actual teaching concepts for our needs.
I think this product is better suited for students who require additional practice when learning new concepts. If your child “gets it” quickly, then this might not be the best fit. If however, your child likes to review concepts several times before moving on to something new, this might be the perfect program for you! The daily drills help to reinforce and cement basic addition and subtraction.
I also agree with other parents that for the younger grade levels, the teacher manual is not needed.
