Educational-Curriculum.com Visitor Review:
I would love to tell you that we had a great experience with this company. I would love to tell you that these books were great and just what we needed. However, since we never received these books I cannot. I would love to tell you that this company was cooperative and easy to communicate with. Unfortunately, I can’t. Here’s our experience with this company:
On August 12, 2013 we put an order in for the “Secular Silver Pack: Grade 08 Full Year.” It cost us a total of $412.50. Cost-wise, it was in the middle of the range of programs I had researched so while I wasn’t thrilled to shell out $400, I was expecting it. As I said, we put our order in on August 12, 2013. It was at 5:00 central time so I suppose we could call it August 13, 2013 if you wanted to get technical. This is the email I received in response to my order:
“Thank you for shopping with Educational Curriculum. We appreciate your business very much. Please allow approximately 2-4 weeks for order receipt. This is approximate. It can be a bit before or a bit after this timeframe. Below are the details for your order.”
The email also contained an invoice number and you can go to the website to check your order status whenever you want. About four weeks passed before I thought about checking the order status. At four weeks our order status was “Processing.” Now, I don’t mean to be picky or mean but I just don’t see how it takes four weeks to process an order. I sent an email to the company through their website telling them it had been four weeks since we put our order in and asking how much longer it would take to get the order. I hinted that I was not happy in how long it was taking and suggested that if they couldn’t get our order to us perhaps we should cancel it and find a company that could. I received no response but the next day when I checked our order it said “Complete.” The day after that when I checked it said our order had been shipped on September 5, 2013.
By September 19, 2013 we still hadn’t received our order despite it having been shipped by Fed Ex. I sent an email on that day asking for a tracking number so I could track the package. I also called the company to request the same information. There was no answer at the company and there was once again no response to my email. I realize that perhaps due to a time difference the company might have been closed when I called but I did leave a message and no one returned my call. I sent an email on 9/20/13 telling the company that if we did not receive our order by 9/25/13 that we would be canceling our order and requesting a refund.
On September 24, 2013 in a last ditch effort to give this company the benefit of the doubt I called Fed Ex to see if I could track the package without a tracking number. They told me there is no package scheduled for delivery for us at all. It appears to be as we had begun to suspect. This company took our money and I dare say they have no intention of filling our order.
We will be taking steps to recoup our money and begin our search for a curriculum for my 8th grade son. Unfortunately, the worst part about this is that my son is not being educated right now. My son at the time of this writing is 13 years old. He has Asperger’s Syndrome. Last year in the public school system was a nightmare. Due to this and the fact that we moved to a new state we decided that it was best to keep him home and teach him there this year. It’s a shame that we are unable to teach him at the moment because we have no curriculum.
