Visitor Review:
We have used Calvert for two years now for 2nd and 3rd grade.
All though I like it, I didn’t understand it quite well at first and it caused us to begin behind right away.
The lesson planners are well put together and touch on a little of everything, everyday.
My daughter excelled in some classes where others it was a slower pace which did cause a little bit of confusion.
The first year we tried to just work full time on 3 chores at a time, it seemed easier for her to focus on 3 at a time but it messed up the daily planner a lot.
The next year we stuck with the daily and it was easier and she could sometimes do two days worth of work on one day. We finished the year early but I would have liked to be able to move her ahead on some classes and you can’t do that with Calvert.
This year we are trying something else that may help with that.
Over all, it’s great for first timers and people that just want to stick with a grade each year.
It is very organized.
Make sure to review it before the start of the school year and call and ask questions, lots of questions so you know all your options and help and how the daily work all goes. Then you will do great. 🙂
