Visitor Review:
This year was really my first full year of homeschooling my third grader, my first time picking our official “Science” curriculum. We pulled him out of public school last year in the middle of second grade, and did a pretty good job finishing out the school year with various materials off the internet. Because of glowing reviews, I chose Apologia Zoology 1 for our first Science. I was sure this would be a hit!! However, my son is a struggling reader anyhow, and discussing topics such as, “binomial nomenclature, classifications of mammals, insects, aerodynamic pressure, lift & drag, animal, kingdom, phylum, etc.” was just a tad too dry for my “ancy” son.. The pics were very colorful, and there was an abundance of information, however, this appeared to be something that would be studied in 6th or 7th grade. At least in order to “fully understand.” With two weeks into the school year, I pulled the plug, and ordered the LifePac Science. This just wasn’t for us. Sorry!
