We’ve just completed our first year of ACE Paces & have very much enjoyed them. My 5-year old son has learned so much! He can read, write, & his math skills are pretty great (adding, subtracting, telling time, counting basic money). We first used the ABC’s first to gain a very solid foundation of phonics, then moved on to 1st level Paces (there is no kindergarten, this is an older curriculum created prior to prek/K era). He enjoyed completing each Pace (a booklet, similar to a few chapters..There is a test at the end of each booklet, then child moves on to next level, ex: Math 1001, 1002 & so on) & moving to the next/new Pace/booklet. I enjoyed this because I felt we covered kindergarten and a good bit of first grade without dragging my kid (& his short attention span) along for a tumultuous schooI year. it was nice to cover the bases & move on. Will we always use this? Maybe. I hear reviews about parents not feeling that their child is learning at an appropriate level (but you have to remrmber, the grades aren’t always the same for every curriculum, ex: my kindergartener just completed ‘first grade’) For now, it’s pretty awesome (for us) and my child is very much adead of the public school game.
