This is my evaluation of Abeka homeschool curriculum.
There are a few of the things we really like about Abeka as well as the very few we didn’t like.
The number one thing we like about this program is that it is a Christian Homeschool curriculum. As believers in Jesus, this made Abeka very attractive to us.
We tried Virtual Academy for the first half of the year but switched back to Abeka for the second half.
The second thing we liked about Abeka is its in depth teaching, which we all know is a thumbs up for any program.
The third aspect that we liked was that it was a well structured program. A homeschooler needs that to keep on track.
And the last notable thing I can think to mention is the price. We found that the basic Abeka was very economical.
This brings me to the things we didn’t like about Abeka. This may sound like a contradiction but its not. While we like the price on the basic Abeka, to get the extras to go along with it can get into money… that’s a negative.
The only other negative I aspect I can think of is that at times it can get repetitious, which is probably not uncommon for any program.
Overall, we think Abeka is a good educational tool that we would highly recommend to other homeschooling families.
